Negar Achtari is a graduate of Lausanne University, School of Law in Switzerland. She obtained her masters degree (LL.M) in Corporate law and Finance from Widener University in Delaware, USA. In 2002, she graduated with an LL.B. degree in common law from the University of Ottawa, School of law.
Negar became a member of the New York Bar in 1998 and was called to the Ontario bar in September 2003.
Negar has had the advantage of living in different countries. She is multi-lingual and brings her experience as a litigation lawyer.
Prior to establishing her law office in Ottawa in June 2005, she worked in association with the law firm of Bell, Unger, Riley, Morris, a Canadian immigration law firm.
Negar is the only Farsi speaking immigration lawyer in Ottawa. She travels to Iran regularly and speaks to immigration issues on a regular basis, both on Hamseda radio and Pars TV.
Negar has represented clients before both Canadian and American immigration authorities.
Negar offers legal services in English, Farsi (Persian) and French.
Yana Kuzminykh is a graduate of Algonquin College in Ottawa, Ontario, where she completed her paralegal studies in April of 2014, with Honours. Prior to coming to Canada, Yana obtained her Bachelors in Civil Law (LL.B.) from one of the most respected law faculties in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Yana gained extensive experience in the field of international corporate law by working for Baltic Leasing Group in Russia. In November of 2013, Yana joined Achtari law PC where she has had the opportunity to work on a variety of immigration matters.
Yana obtained her paralegal licence from the Law Society of Upper Canada in November of 2014 and is particularly interested in small claims court matters, and practice before administrative tribunals in Ontario including Landlord and Tenant law matters.
Yana has an extensive and diverse background. Well-travelled, she fluently speaks English and Russian and can assist clients in both languages. She is also conversant in French.
Yana is not only dedicated to her profession, she is also active in the local community having volunteered in the "Lawyers feed the hungry" program and in the Pinecrest-Queensway Community Health Centre, Ottawa.
